It's the Season of Durian Again (又是榴梿季节了)
With June in full swing, the peak season has arrived as supplies have gone up and prices have come down. Of course, I am not referring to premium durians. High-grade durian are always a bit pricey.
On 11 July 2021, I bought one King of the King's durian from Blk 846, opposite NTUC Fairprice's stall located at Khatib Central.
The taste was just alright to me. I still prefer the Musang King (Mao Shan Wang) durian type.
There's another durian stall around the corner located at Blk 846. For several weeks, that durian stall has attracted long queue, even to the extend when it's raining heavily these few days, I still see durian enthusiasts holding umbrellas queuing continuously under the rain. Nobody cares rain or shine, these enthusiasts continue to queue up.
There are quite a few durian stalls in Yishun Khatib Central. But this stall located at Blk 846 has the longest queue everyday with durian enthusiasts patronizing.
1-Day Durian Tour with my Zumba Team
A Throwback – 2 years ago, I joined a 1-Day Durian Tour with my Zumba Happy Fit Focus Group team. We got up very early before sunrise to catch a hired coach to Johor Bahru so that we can arrive across the causeway avoiding heavy traffic jam during weekends, and just in time to catch our breakfast at one of the stop-by terminal along the roadside around the rural area. It was actually a team bonding session I really enjoyed with the Zumba instructors and team members. A wonderful traveling experience. It's not so much of the durian-tasting, but about the get-together-to-know-one-another-better experience on the bus ride and interval activities that we did together.

In this blog, I have gathered some pointers to aid novices to understand what is this durian crave about:

How To Go To Durian Stall Or Farm In Johor Bahru

We went on to visit one of the Chinese temple's wishing tree, and took some crazy poses group photos behind the temple's backyard bamboo garden. What an experience!
Before we head back home to Singapore on our coach, we stopped by a local restaurant to have our last meal together as a team. Everyone was so full after eating durians, in fact, during the dinner session, no one has the appetite to continue filling their stomach with add-on food. But it's the get-together joyous occasion that made us feeling contented and happy.
Our Tour Guide on the left doing wefie for us:
We welcome you to join the Durian Craze. It's only once a year :)
